Here's what some of our students and parents have to say about FLCT:
As the parent of a child who never really "fit in" with the athletic crowd
(which was the majority) at his tiny school, my husband and I struggled to find
a place where our shy, skinny little 12 year old boy felt secure. We wandered
into the old theatre on Andrews, where he tried out for "Honk". When he wasn't
cast, we were sure that he would never want to subject himself to auditioning
process again, and we would never walk through FLCT's doors again. Wrong! He
was bitten, smitten by the wonderful staff and other students here. He has made
many life-long friends, and participated in more than ten productions, be and behind the scenes in crew. Six years later, our entire family has
walked through FLCT's ever-changing doors countless times. You see, the FLCT
bug doesn't just bite your child, it bites the whole family!

I
loved being in Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty. My role was a pixie and I helped
the fairy godmother transform Cinderella into her ballgown so she could attend
the ball. I loved sprinkling fairy dust as me and the other pixies danced. This
was my first show, but I have been coming to classes at FLCT for the past 4
years. It was a great experience being part of a great cast and I made lots of
new friends. I really love performing and can't wait to be in another
show!!

Our daughter's involvement in FLCT has been one of the best things she's ever
done! The staff at FLCT took her under their wing at a young age and gave her
the confidence, experience, and support to grow and develop into an extremely
capable young woman. Between classes, performances, back stage assistance and
outreach, our child has learned how to relate to all kinds of people, be
creative in her endeavors, work hard to achieve her goals, take leadership when
needed, help those in need, believe in herself, not to mention, speak, dance and
sing in public! What more could a parent ask for? The people at FLCT truly
care about her, and she knows it. There couldn't be a better environment for
her to grow up in.

So far in my three years of being in FLCT, it has been an exciting adventure and
a chance to improve my skills as an actor and pursue my dream. I receive nothing
but support and very helpful constructive critisim when I'm learning a part for
a play. My entire family feels welcome at FLCT as they connect with all of my
friends who are also part of FLCT and enjoy it as much as I do. FLCT has been
there for me since the beginning when I went there. All I can add now is to say
that they are a loving family who teach me and help to guide me.. THANKS
FLCT!!!

Words can not express the gratitude and respect that our family shares for
the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre. Our daughter has particiapted in the
theatre for over two years, and the benefit to her has been life changing. As a
child who struggled to find her niche' in traditional school activities or
sports, the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre opened a world of opportunity.
The highest compliment to the theatre is the open heart with which they welcome
all types of children, providing the structure to build upon their talents and
ultimately, their self confidence. Equally important is the the lesson of
working together as a "family", which they become, and respecting the
individual personalities and talents that are part of the theatre world. I would highly reccommend to any child to experience theatre under the
direction of the competent and caring team at the Fort Lauderdale Children's
Theatre . No regrets....just WOW!

Thank you or your creative, imaginative, visionary, artistic
talents. There was so much happening in the show that if it was on
Broadway the patrons would want to come back and see it again and again!
